The Wilson Ultra 100 tennis racket is the model responsible for replacing and improving the popular Wilson Juice line. And if we had to describe it quickly in a few words, we would call it the “Swiss army knife” of tennis rackets.
Tour players like Feliciano López or Lucie Safarova play with the Ultra 100 CV. So, in this post, we will go a little deeper into what makes the Ultra 100 such a versatile racket.

One of the most pleasant aspects of the Ultra 100 is how easy it is to generate power. Today’s players move behind the bottom line, but they also have skills to get on the net and fly.
The Wilson Ultra line was created to help players be effective and explosive from every inch of the court.
The 645.2 cm² head generates a fairly wide sweet spot, and the sensations upon contact between the ball and the string are good even in off-center blows.
Wilson used Power Rib technology in the throat to help stabilize the frame with a lighter weight and offer good doses of power, but also more directional control.
The lighter, more rigid and powerful frames generally do not get high marks in terms of sensations and comfort. Although it's not among the best wilson tennis racket, Wilson has made a great achievement by providing players with the Wilson Ultra 100, a powerful, but also comfortable, racquet.
On the other hand, Countervail technology and the “Wilson’s carbon layer injection” system in the frame, maximize energy return and greatly reduce muscle fatigue that tends to occur in rigid rackets.
The Wilson Ultra 100 is one of the most comfortable intermediate rackets ever made.
WILSON ULTRA 100: SPECIFICATIONS
As I said a few lines above, the Ultra 100 model, theoretically, is focused from beginners to intermediate players. However, even if we partly agree, we lean it a little more towards the intermediate level.
HEAD
While it is true that, the size of the head is 645.2 cm², we suggest that beginners less “corpulent” opt for rackets with larger heads. These rackets have wider sweet spots and more with greater “forgiveness” against off-center blows.
COMPOSITION
Now, having said that, this is a wonderfully balanced tennis racket for its affordable price. It is made of high quality carbon fiber graphite and has an exclusive padded foam grip that was designed to achieve optimal cushioning and shock absorption when the ball is hit.
WEIGHT
The Wilson Ultra 100 has a weight of 300 grams (+ – 315 grams bound), along with a frame that is very firm. These attributes, combined with the size of the head, are what is expected of a racket that leans more towards the control.
In fact, if you are an aggressive player, you will appreciate the good combination of maneuverability, stability and power of this racket.
What all this means on the track is that you can get a good depth in your bottom shots and quickly and easily change from attacking to defending, or vice versa.
For beginner and intermediate players, the Wilson Ultra 100 could mean an important step in improving the level of tennis.
Fortunately, we have been able to test the Wilson Ultra 100, and we strongly affirm that the racket has a uniform feel and precise aim, thanks to its new and avant-garde BURN FST geometry.
This has allowed us to generate “spin” more easily and with a little less effort. This logically translated into higher ball speed.
The carbon fiber configuration at the top of its frame meant a substantial difference in the power of each stroke.
Not to mention that we noticed a light sensation in the racket due to its grip with the “Cushion Foam” system that made it absorb the impacts in an optimal way.
Continuing, the Ultra 100 worked well from the baseline, as it offered a lot of power.
For a intermediate string pattern, with this racket it was easy for us to turn the wrist to generate “spin”, getting more topspin than usual. Power and depth were widely achieved.
As for the volleys, the ease of handling caught our attention, not to mention that this racket can be excellent to play, both singles and doubles.
In terms of service, the Wilson Ultra 100 ″ text = ”Wilson Ultra 100 is consistent in terms of power and effects, which helped to achieve quite a few first services at stake. In addition, we note that the additional “spin” helped improve the first and second service.
In summary, the Wilson Ultra 100 offers an unmatched combination of spin, speed and power, which is what today’s versatile player is looking for. You can easily take this racket and play with it from the beginning.
WHAT MAKES THE WILSON ULTRA 100 SPECIAL?
The 16 × 19 string pattern plays a key role, as it allows for an exceptional “spin”, such as cut strokes.
It is amazing how with this racket you can feel the necessary strength in a racket of the highest quality. And not only that, but it is easier to generate ball rhythm or hit rights with minimal effort.
On the other hand, if you are one of the players who like to hit hard and powerful in the services, with this weapon you will have a great ally to get those “Ace’s” or direct serves that you are so excited about.
“Without being an expert in tennis, I feel comfortable with this racket. I come from a Wilson Hyper Hammer 6.3, and I notice that the ball is bouncing with much greater power. My serve has won whole. ”
A SMALL WEAKNESS
While this racket accumulates so many compliments, we find a weakness. The power level offered by the Wilson Ultra 100 is not bad, but it could be better.
It has about the same amount as the Head Graphene XT, but you will experience a greater ability to move the head of the Wilson Ultra 100 just as quickly, despite its greater weight.
VERSATILITY OF THE WILSON ULTRA 100
As for this model, Wilson Ultra 100, it is a racket with great versatility, with which we are sure that it will bring you a great evolution in your game, either playing singles or doubles.
Also, if you want to connect the Sony Tennis Sensor to track your hit statistics, the racket is ready for it.
Conclusions on the Wilson Ultra 100
The Wilson Ultra 100 is a racket that is focused for the beginner to intermediate player, although as we emphasized earlier, we focus it, to a greater extent, on intermediate players.
If you like a racket with which you can really feel the ball on the strings when hitting, a racket that optimally absorbs impacts and vibrations, and one with which it is easy for you to introduce powerful, placed and “spin” services, do not look any further.
The Wilson Ultra 100 is very likely the racket you are looking for. That option that will transform your game!
