Let’s start this analysis with the specifications of the Pure Strike.

PURE STRIKE SPECIFICATIONS

This tennis budget racket has a standard length of 27 inches and has a head size of 630 cm2. This is at the lower end of the available head sizes, but there are advantages in having a smaller racket frame.

With this head size, the Babolat Pure Strike maximizes its accuracy and responsiveness to each movement.

EVO FRAMEWORK

The EVO frame refers to the width or thickness of the frame when the racket is viewed from the side. This model is designed to have variable widths as a way to reduce torsion when contact is made with the ball.

X-SIDER

Unique slots have been strategically incorporated into the frame. The result is a sweet spot that is bigger and more tolerant when you hit the ball outside the center of the string.

STABILIZER TECHNOLOGY

The frame has been built in a unique way that combines the shapes of the head of the racket, alternating square and ellipse shaped.

The result is a racket that responds better. Carbon fibers have also been strategically placed in certain areas to improve stability.

Even if you don’t know exactly what all the previous technologies mean, you can be sure that this is a racket that you will appreciate.

The head size is 630 cm2, although the X-SIDER technology gives you a 10% wider sweet spot when compared to other rackets.

The weight without a string is 305 grams and the string pattern varies depending on the model, which can be 16 X 19 or 18 X 20, which allows you to make good shots with a large amount of spin.

This racket is specially designed for players who want stability and control. You can feel its lightness and speed.

So, if your strategy is to anticipate and hit the ball early and set the pace, this racket will live up to your expectations.

Do you have problems to succeed with your first service or so that the second serve does not lack power?

Do not care anymore. This great model of Babolat will take your chestnuts out of the fire.

This racket is made of graphite and the frame has a medium-high rigidity. In other words, if you are regaining the position in the baseline or serving and flying, the control and stability offered by this racket will impress you.

When moving and hitting, you will feel its comfort, speed and simple handling.

First of all, this racket is an impressive racket, and I can understand why it is such a popular model. Babolat really did a good job with this design, and tested it with all kinds of players to discover how to approach the creation of the racket.

The Babolat Pure Strike helps to bring out all the hits, it is extremely versatile, and all the features of this racket work together to make it a very nice racket for a wide range of players.

I would say that it is not so similar to the previous version, however, if you liked the previous version, then try it.

I really couldn’t find anything I didn’t like about this racket, since it worked very well in all areas of the track. The stability was surprisingly very good, highlighting its speed and maneuverability.

I would not see any reason to add weight to this racket. It has an incredible torsion stability, which is why I loved it in the wreckage and in the punching with power, since the weight to turn the wrist seemed high. However, I lost a little touch, but still the game became easy.

This racket offered a combination of control and power that was hard to believe, since it was hitting at all points extremely precisely and with a lot of power. I would call it controllable power.

Due to the greater weight of the torsion, it did not adapt to my game as well as I expected in the background blows when I used my wrist a little in forced blows. The feeling was good but not the best.

I never felt uncomfortable or felt discomfort in my arms. The volleys were great, as I was able to hit the ball easily. In addition, I was able to make cut blows that took me out of the odd rush. In almost every hit with this racket I had no problems.

If I had to opt for it, I would place it in the top 5 on the market, and if you like the feeling of Babolat, but you want more control than with the Babolat Pure Strike, you could consider the Pure Drive or Pure Aero .

Overall, as you probably have been able to deduce, I loved this racket and I have absolutely nothing to complain about. And honestly, if you are looking for a new racket, you should consider including Pure Strike in your list.

BABOLAT PURE STRIKE IMPROVEMENTS OVER PREVIOUS MODELS

An important difference with respect to the Pure Strike 2016 is the framework. The 2017 version actually has a hybrid frame made of square and elliptical sections.

Babolat decided to change the frame a bit to increase the accuracy and stability at the moment of the impact of the ball.

Many readers of this blog have complained in the past that Pure Strike is too rigid for them, which leads to problems with muscles and even tennis elbow.

Babolat has decided to reduce the rigidity of the framework of previous models, yet I would recommend that you do one of these two things:

  • Decrease string tension or use ropes with a softer material.
  • Strings of softer materials, such as Wilson Luxilion or Prince Synthetic Gut strings, are ideal for this racket.

Babolat also incorporated FSI technology in the framework of the Pure Strike tennis racket. That acronym of fantasy only means that the upper crosses of the racket are more separated. On the track, this results in more power and effects.

PURE STRIKE WEIGHT, BALANCE AND STRING

The Babolat Pure Strike weighs 305 grams without stringing, 320 grams with the string.

The weight is balanced towards the grip with an overall balance of 7 HL points. This means that the weight leans towards your hand, which will allow you to implement greater effect to the ball, as well as, arrive and subtract the most compromised blows from the baseline.

This balance also means that Pure Strike makes volleys on the net easy. You can recover the position quickly and continue attacking.

The default version of the Babolat Pure Strike comes with a 16 × 19 or 18 x 20 string pattern, depending on the model. A perfect hybrid between an open and a closed string pattern, the 16 × 19 pattern will give you enough spin and control for any tennis ball.

Conclusions about the Babolat Pure Strike

Babolat designed this Pure Strike tennis racket from scratch to make it perfect for the most aggressive tennis players.

If you consider yourself an intermediate player or even an advanced player, the Babolat Pure Strike is the tennis racket that can take you to the next level.

The weight and frame contribute greatly to allow players to hit balls deeper than ever. The balance or swing weight allows you to easily maneuver the racket frame to be able to execute the punches easily, as in the case of volleys.

On the other hand, the Babolat Pure Strike is perfect for aggressive players, both serve and volley, and from the baseline.

Go win some tennis matches with this racket!
